Frequently Asked Questions
No, but our guides will direct you onto public transport so you don’t get lost, just don’t stray too far. We find that no matter how many steins one has consumed, miraculously most of our guests come back safe and sound. Munich’s cheap and easy public transport leaves from the festival and takes you back to the campsite all day everyday. But be warned… if you don’t buy a ticket, you can be fined 60€ (that is the equivalent of a whole extra day and night at Oktoberfest!)
Check-in at the 24-hour Stoke Reception for your tent allocation and orientation.
Breakfast is a chef-prepared brunch, with bottomless mimosas.
We allocate all accommodation on arrival, so just let our check in crew know who you want to share with/be near at reception and they can hook you up.
The campsite offers spacious bathrooms and hot showers for a 1€ token purchased at Guru tent. (Cold showers are free if you are feeling brave)
There’s a restaurant/cafe, vending machines, the best Schnitzel food cart in the world and a little essentials store.
WiFi (€2 for 10hrs) and charging stations are available in certain areas and tokens are sold at the campsite reception for laundry facilities.
We sell traditional festival costumes as well as awesomely stylish Stoke hoodies, tee- shirts, beanies and all sorts of other handy knick-knacks.
Yes, you just need to prepay for food and drink vouchers and your table can be reserved. This is subject to availability, so email the operator as soon as you can for more information.
We serve unlimited alcohol at our camps. You, my friend, will be the wild animal.
Check in: 2pm. Check out: 11am. If you arrive earlier than 2pm, we’ll be happy to put you in your tent if it’s available and or keep you hydrated with beers while you wait.
There is an ATM at the campsite, but it can be a little unreliable sometimes, so grab your cash beforehand or at the Oktoberfest festival.
For €15/night you can enjoy unlimited beer and sangria at Stoketoberfest, available at our campsite bar. Open 8:00am to 11:00pm.
Yes there are lockers, however there is only a limited number and they are allocated on a first come first serve basis. We will be selling locks at the campsite for €5, which you will be able to use to secure your bag or your tent.
Yes! September and October in winter can be quite chilly, especially at night time. Be sure to bring warm clothes and although you are provided with a sleeping bag, some extra blankets etc. where possible.
At the moment we don’t have any photos, however we offer a large selection of traditional lederhosen and dirndl with an abundance of sizes and designs to choose from. Due to this I’m sure you won’t have any trouble finding a size and style to suit your personal taste.
Despite its name, Oktoberfest—the world’s biggest beer festival—mostly takes place in September, drawing over seven million people each year to the Theresienwiese fairgrounds in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
At Oktoberfest, festival-goers will drink over seven million liters of pure Bavarian beer, brewed according to strict German purity laws, meaning no preservatives or artificial additives. The result? Oktoberfest beers are smoother and give less of a hangover! Alongside the flowing beer, you’ll indulge in hearty German classics like pretzels, bratwurst, and other Oktoberfest must-eats.
The fun doesn’t stop with food and drinks—dance on tables to traditional German oompah bands, sing along with new friends from across the globe, and enjoy the electric atmosphere. And when you step outside the beer halls, the thrill continues with carnival rides that rival the best amusement parks. Roller coasters, fun houses, and giant swings await, daring you to test your limits after all that beer and hearty food! Oktoberfest is the ultimate cultural celebration you won’t want to miss.
But the thing to love the most about Oktoberfest in Munich is your fellow beer lovers and party animals. From Munich locals to travellers from all over Germany and the world.
Yes!! You may like to consider staying at Ladies' Island.
This exclusive, women-only tent area offers a safe and comfortable space for female solo travelers and groups of women to relax and recharge during the festival. Designed with extra security and a dedicated powder room, Ladies’ Island lets you rest easy and enjoy a bit more privacy while prepping for the beer halls.
This initiative aims to make Oktoberfest more accessible to women, especially solo travelers, by providing a peaceful escape from the usual festival chaos. While Oktoberfest is often seen as a male-dominated event, we know the love for beer transcends gender! Ladies’ Island is completely optional and comes included with your Oktoberfest 2025 package—no extra cost, just extra peace of mind.
Just make note in the "special requirements' section on the booking page that you would like to reserve your tent on Ladies' Island.
Directions from the Munich Airport
If you arrive at the airport you can take the S1 train or S8 train. If you take the S1 train, get off at Laim train station to switch to the S2 towards Petershausen. If you take the S8 train, you can change at any station between Ostbahnhof and Laim to the S2 towards Petershausen. Once on the S2, jump off at station Untermenzing. Right outside the station hop on the 164 bus for three stops to Campingplatz Obermenzing.
Directions from Munich city centre
Once you’re at the Hauptbahnhof, or any Munich metro station, take the underground S1 to Laim metro station, then take the S2 towards Peterhausen and jump off at Untermenzing. Right outside the station hop on the 164 bus for three stops to Campingplatz Obermenzing. Just ask the driver or have a look on the bus route map. Jump off the bus and you’re at our doorstep. Too easy!
Directions to the Oktoberfest beer halls from our campsite
The Oktoberfest is held in the Theresenwiese fairgrounds, which is in central Munich a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof, or Munich central train station. The best way to arrive is by public transport, with the nearest U-Bahn stations being Theresenwiese and Goetheplatz, or the S-Bahn station of Hackerbrücke.
From the Stoketoberfest campsite it’s a short bus and S-Bahn ride, first taking the 159 or 164 bus to Untermenzing S-Bahn station and then the S2 or S4 S-Bahn to Hackerbrücke. Total travel time is 30-45 minutes, very dependent on connections. Bring a beer for the journey!
