We would consider this an active tour, we are doing the 1 day Inca trail and a few more walks after all :) . For example the 1 day Inca Trail Machu Picchu is a 12km (7.5 miles) hike through the Andes in the Cusco region. The maximum altitude reached is 2700m. In preparation: try walking 15kms/ 9 miles in a day or working out in the months leading up to the trek. Don't worry, we always receive different levels of fitness, at the end of the day the important thing is to bring good vibes & positive attitude and you will make it!
Altitude sickness is real, that's why we spend 1 whole day walking in cusco to get used to it. The hotel also provides coca leaf tea that is used by the locals to get the body ready. Our only recomendation is to take it easy on arrival and not do many activities on day 1.
Most of the people that join us on tour are 18-thirtysomethings! We have no strict upper age limit on our tours but all of our tours are specifically designed for those of this age group which is worth noting when browsing through our website.

Yes, the majority of our travellers will be travelling on their own! Roughly 65% of our TruTravellers come solo! We have designed our trips specifically with solo travellers in mind, so you can be assured you’ll meet lots of others travelling alone like yourself along the way. This of course doesn’t mean our trips are only for solo travellers, but it does mean that you don’t need to worry you’ll be surrounded by a group that already knows each other.
