Take a wander around&nbsp;New Zealand&rsquo;s most active geothermal reserve, walking amongst erupting waters, an active mud volcano and land coral. 
 
Get your hands and feet dirty in the healing mud pool, treat yourself to a relaxing geothermal walk and try your hand at Maori carving. You&rsquo;ll discover the legends and myths behind Hell&rsquo;s Gate as you relax. 
 
There&#39;s a free guided tour daily&nbsp;subject to availablity, that will give you a fascinating insight into the park and its history.&nbsp;Times are: 10.30 am and 2.30 pm.

Hells Gate Geothermal Reserve & Mud Spa

A fantastic 90 minute tour with an incredibly knowledgeable guide, who explained the science, geology, flora and fauna. We would have missed out on so much if we had just walked around.

If you're concerned about the sulfur smell, it wasn't overpowering, but it did cling to every piece of clothing for a good few days, necessitating several thorough washes. You should still participate in this fantastic event despite the scent. You will not regret
