One of the coolest ways to explore the beauty of this isle is by a buggy tour through the rugged dunes and desert-like landscapes.

Gather at the tour operator&rsquo;s office in Vivonne Bay to start this epic adventure on the south coast of Kangaroo Island. After a brief meeting and introduction, you&rsquo;ll be led to the starting point of the buggy tour.

You&rsquo;ll start with a drive along the banks of the Eleanor River, where you should keep your eyes on the century-old gum trees for a glimpse of the island&rsquo;s most adorable inhabitants: the koalas.&nbsp;

After exploring bushes and creeks, the driver takes you to the edge of the world: Kangaroo Island&rsquo;s southernmost beaches. There&rsquo;s nothing but ocean between here and Antarctica! Hop off to admire the towering cliffs and remote beaches that would typically remain inaccessible. Make sure to bring your camera, as the turquoise water and shimmering beaches make for a spectacular sight! During the winter months, you might even spot a Southern Right Whale on the horizon.

The tour continues to Little Sahara, a 2,5 square kilometre inland dune reserve that has a protected status in Australia. You&rsquo;ll be racing through the dunes, with sweeping views all around the vehicle.&nbsp;

Two hours after this once-in-a-lifetime trip started, you&rsquo;ll be brought back to the tour operator&rsquo;s office in Vivonne Bay.
