Mount Gambier is halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne, so you can drive from either capital. There are no activities today, so you can arrive at Delgattie Estate, your home&nbsp;for the next three nights, from mid-afternoon onward.

&nbsp;

Delgattie Estate is a grand country manor established in 1902. The iconic property has entered a new era of refined living after being luxuriously restored as a boutique hotel. Discover premium accommodation in three individually designed guest suites, each with its own en suite, sitting room and private access.

Day 1: Penola &amp; Coonawarra Tour

&nbsp;

After breakfast, your full-day private&nbsp;Penola &amp; Coonawarra tour starts with pick-ups from Delgattie Estate. The first stop is the historic Petticoat Lane in Penola, which retains original 19th Century cottages and gardens, enabling visitors to experience historic stories and experiences.

&nbsp;

Next is Yallum Park, which is said to be the best preserved Victorian House in Australia in its original condition. You&#39;ll enjoy a private tour with the current owners, Andy &amp; Annie Clifford, as they take you back in time to the Victorian era of the region in a stunning residence.

&nbsp;

Having worked up an appetite, you&#39;ll stop for an indulgent set-menu lunch at Ottelia. Taste the growing portfolio of wine and enjoy a range of dishes made with seasonal produce right out of their veggie garden just up the road. Your taste buds will be delighted, and no one leaves Ottelia&nbsp;hungry!

After lunch, you&#39;ll head to Wynns Coonawarra Estate, the district&#39;s pre-eminent wine producer, with the longest-established vineyard sites.

&nbsp;

Here, your hosted tasting will include the Icon range of wines such as the John Riddoch Cabernet, Michael Shiraz, V&amp;A Lane Shiraz &amp; Cab Shiraz, the flagship Black Label range and one of the Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from previous vintages.

&nbsp;

Then take the opportunity to become your own Wynns winemaker as you blend your own version of the classic Wynns CSM blend. Using Wynns Cabernet, Shiraz, &amp; Merlot, you&#39;ll learn the art of wine blending and take away your own half bottle to enjoy.&nbsp;

No trip to Coonawarra is complete without grabbing a &quot;Selfie at the Siding&quot;. Stop in for a wonderful iconic photo at the&nbsp;Coonawarra Railway Siding&nbsp;as well as run through some of the histories of the region.

Day 2: Mount Gambier Tour

&nbsp;

Once again, enjoy a delicious breakfast before heading out for a full-day private tour.

Today&#39;s adventure takes you all around Mount Gambier, with the first stop at the&nbsp;Tantanoola Caves Conservation Park. This spectacular cave, set into a cliff face, is believed to have been exposed by the constant pounding of the ocean. However, over time the sea has retreated, leaving behind a cavern of interesting shells, pebbles and seal bones.

&nbsp;

Then, visit the Blue Lake, a much-photographed landmark that mysteriously changes colour as summer approaches, switching from a steel grey-blue&nbsp;hue to dazzling cobalt blue in November.

&nbsp;

The stunning Blue Lake is not only a natural volcanic wonder but also services the major rural centre of Mount Gambier as its water source. The circumference is around 6 km, and you&#39;ll have the opportunity to walk around the peak to grab the perfect photo opportunity.

&nbsp;

Next, enjoy a two-course lunch at Thyme @ the Lakes, showcasing the best local produce in modern, internationally-inspired cuisine. Situated at one of the highest points in Mount Gambier, Thyme @ The Lakes offers unprecedented views across the city.

After your leisurely meal, it&#39;s time to admire the beauty of the Umpherston Sinkhole/Balumbul. Appreciate its size and depth from the viewing platforms at the top of the sinkhole, then walk down into it, along the terraces and behind the hanging vines.

The last stop of the day is Caroline Hills. This boutique vineyard is located on the Limestone Coast of South Australia, focusing on wines made from Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grapes.
