The Operator is based in the Tourist Information Centre within the Ayers Rock Resort, town centre, Yulara.
It’s an easy 5 minute walk from Desert Gardens or Sails in the Desert. From the Campgrounds or Outback Pioneer Hotel it’ll take you about 10-15 minutes to walk. Alternatively you can drive, there is plenty of parking behind IGA.
When you pop into the Tourist Information Centre, The Operator shares their booth with Uluru Segway Tours. When you arrive you can receive your device and help get you set up.
If you’ve booked in advance, allow about 10minutes for a quick run through on how Uluru Audio Guide works. Once you’ve got the gist of it, you’ll be off and away!
For the best listening experience it is recommended to get one device per person.
To listen to your device you can use any headphones with a 3.5mm round input. The devices can be played out loud in your car stereo using an auxiliary cord or FM radio tuner, which can be supplied at the time of hire.
The Uluru Audio Guide is a simple device that has one core function; to provide you with a rich, interactive, self-guided tour experience. Once you’ve hired the audio guide all that you need to do is simply turn it on, select your language and follow the prompts.
The Uluru Audio Guide uses GPS technology and can be enjoyed in or while walking on one of the many walks in the National Park. It has access to a GPS-triggered self-guided tour content in 7 languages covering the entire Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.
The device plays via headphones or car stereo (does not have an inbuilt speaker or bluetooth).
Don’t forget to charge the device overnight so it has a full battery the next morning.
