The trip starts in Cancún and finishes in Playa Del Carmen. At the start of the tour, you will need to fly into Cancún International Airport (CUN) where your tour guide will meet you and take you to the starting hotel. Cancún International Airport is also the closest airport to Playa Del Carmen, so we recommend flying out of this airport as well.
The beauty of this group style of travel is that it caters to travellers who are travelling solo and who want to meet and share experiences with like-minded people.
Rooming is organised on a twin-share basis. Solo travellers will be paired with another traveller of the same gender.
There is also an optional single supplement available on most trips for travellers who prefer to have their own room.
This trip is designed for travellers aged 18 and up. Most people travelling on this tour are generally aged between 18 and 35, but there is no upper age limit; you’re only as old as you feel!
It's an ideal tour for anyone looking for maximum adventure and minimum hassle. Each day is filled with unforgettable activities and bucket-list experiences!
All countries require international travellers to present a valid passport (with a minimum of 6 months validity) upon arrival.
It is your own responsibility to have the correct travel documentation. While you won't need a visa to enter Mexico, you’ll need to complete an immigration form and have this with you when you enter and leave Mexico.
For the most up-to-date visa requirements, contact your local embassy, consulate or travel agent.
Yes, travel insurance is compulsory on this trip. You’ll need to be covered for any personal requirements and pre-existing medical conditions as well as cancellation charges, medical expenses, and repatriation costs in the event of an accident or illness.
Every traveller is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travellers may drink more than others while other travellers might like to purchase more souvenirs. We ask that you please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, meals, shopping, and tipping.
You can typically dine out or purchase a takeaway meal in Mexico for roughly 15-20 AUD (180-145 MXN), and a bottle of beer should cost around 2.50-3.60 AUD (30-45 MXN). However, there are always more expensive options.
While tipping isn’t compulsory in Mexico, it is expected, much like it is in the United States. It’s standard to tip around 10-20% for a meal, drink, or service.
You will receive a packing checklist in your pre-departure pack when booking with all the best tips before you travel with us. This checklist will let you know if there is something specific you'll need that you might not have thought of. For most countries, we'd recommend something to cover your shoulders and knees in case we visit temples or other religious buildings where they are required.
Due to limited vehicle space and strictly enforced road laws regarding weight limits, your main piece of luggage must be soft-sided and weigh no more than 15kg/33lb. You can also bring a day pack/bag to carry water, camera, sunscreen, etc when you’re exploring during the day.
We would always recommend packing your things in a backpack over a suitcase. Suitcases are not ideal for travelling as even if they have wheels it’s very hard to pull them across the beach. If it's your first time with a backpack, you’ll never look back after it!
You’ll be staying in comfortable hotels in twin-share rooms for the duration of the tour. If you are a solo traveller, you will be paired up with another traveller of the same sex from your group.
If you have an allergy or food preference, please let us know in advance so we can inform your group leader.
We also recommend printing out allergy cards in the local language. These cards can be easily found on Google and are great to carry as they can be shown to the restaurants we eat at to explain your allergy in depth and make sure nothing gets lost in translation.
If there is a cooking class on the tour, we will also let them know to make it as safe and inclusive as possible.
You can join our waitlist and we will get in touch if your preferred dates become available, or if we can provide you with alternative/similar options!
