Yes, the Operator is happy to collect you from Lyttelton port. Your guide will meet you at the Lyttleton Harbour Information centre.

The maximum group size for this tour is eleven.

All you will need for this tour is your walking/sport shoes and active clothing. The Operator will send you a full gear list after your booking is complete.

Spend the day among the&nbsp;grand limestone rock battlements of Castle Hill/Kura Tawhiti, taking the journey along the scenic&nbsp;Great Alpine Highway.&nbsp;

&nbsp;

Leaving Christchurch, head west towards the mountains across the flat farmland of the Canterbury Plains. After 45mins, you&#39;ll make a stop in the small farming town of Darfield. While lunch is provided later in the day,&nbsp;you&nbsp;might like to sample some kiwi cuisine or pick up a coffee from the local bakery (own expense).

Continuing the journey across the plains, you&#39;ll pass through another small town named Springfield with its giant doughnut. Your guide will explain how the giant doughnut ended up here while snapping a photograph.

&nbsp;

Then, from Springfield, it&#39;s a 45-minute drive along &quot;the Great Alpine Highway&quot; to Castle Hill/Kura Tawhiti conservation area. The road takes the group over Porters Pass (900 metres above sea level), past Lake Lyndon and through some High Country stations before reaching your destination.

&nbsp;

Castle Hill/Kura Tawhiti is a maze of massive limestone boulders that sit in the heart of the Southern Alps. The&nbsp;area was once covered with an inland ocean and now sits 600 metres above sea level. The boulders have a special cultural significance to the local Maori people. The site is protected by Tōpuni status, a&nbsp;symbolic cloak of protection&nbsp;to preserve and acknowledge the area.

&nbsp;

It&#39;s a popular spot for rock climbing, bouldering, and film making. Your guide will show you around the endless boulder fields, explain how they got there, and point out the best photo spots and secret passages.

&nbsp;

Then, a picnic lunch will be laid out by your guide in among&nbsp;the boulders. Relax and enjoy eating while surrounded by such magnificent rocks. After lunch, you have some free time to explore, relax or snap some pictures.

&nbsp;

Finally, after exploring on your own, you&#39;ll meet the group back in the carpark at 2:30 pm, and you&#39;ll return to&nbsp;Christchurch along The Great Alpine Highway. The tour finishes back in Christchurch between 4:30-5:00 pm.

2.1 Booking agents may not book participants onto the tours without prior written agreement with The Operator

2.2 Payment must be made in full or the full amount held at the time of booking.

2.3 It is the responsibility of the booking agents or online booking site to provide a refund where is approved and required to do so by The Operator

5. Cancellations by The Operator

5.1 A tour is cancelled by The Operator will receive a 100% refund including the associated booking fees

5.2 The Operator is not responsible for any additional or associated cost incurred by the participants if a tour is cancelled.

5.3 A tour may be cancelled by The Operator because of but not limited to the following reasons: Bad/un-suitable weather conditions, natural disasters, road closures, availability of staff, political or social unrest.

6. Refunds

6.1 Refunds will be provided in accordance with our terms and conditions.

6.2 Refunds are provided from the place of booking and will only be provided by The Operator if the original booking was made directly with The Operator.

7. Participant release (leaving a tour before the scheduled endpoint)

7.1 participants may leave a tour before the scheduled endpoint of a tour at their own expense.

7.2 Participants who leave a tour early are not entitled to any refunds or financial contributions.

7.3 Some locations used by The Operator are remote and may have a significant expense associated with leaving that location outside of the scheduled tour. The Operator by nature is not responsible for the organization or expense incurred in extracting a participant from a tour.

8. Travel and Health insurance

8.1&nbsp;The Operator is not responsible for clients&rsquo; travel insurance.

8.2 The Operator is not responsible for clients&rsquo; medical insurance.

9. Personal belongings

9.1 The Operator is not responsible for participants&rsquo; personal belongings at any time.
