Our 2-hour high country guided farm tour takes you on an exciting adventure filled with epic landscapes, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, a variety of farmyard animals and the chance to explore remote areas on this vast 50,000-acre property located just outside of Tekapo.

The photo opportunities are abundant, whether you&rsquo;re an animal or landscape lover. We&rsquo;re warning you now; do not forget your camera!

Who says you can&rsquo;t go off-road in style? Our comfortable 12-seater 4WD Mercedes Sprinter van is equipped to journey on smooth and bumpy roads. The windows are plenty big so everyone has views of the stunning scenery on the drive out to our favourite spots. Our tours are capped at 10 people so you can enjoy the best of both worlds; small numbers and big scenes! Jump on board and listen to your guide detail the history of Lake Tekapo while you head towards your first stop, historic Mt John station. Spot some of the farm residents along the way, consisting of 12,000 Merino sheep, 700 Angus cows, 30 alpacas, 25 horses and 15 working dogs!

Discover the story behind Irishman Creek Hut and learn about the forestry and football-sized pine cones. Take in the majestic mountain views while heading to your next stop, the picturesque Swan Tarn, an alpine gem with the Southern Alps and Aoraki Mt Cook as its backdrop. Grab some binoculars and see if you can spot the endangered Black Stilt bird that has made this beautiful tarn its home.&nbsp;

Sample some pure New Zealand honey produced on the farm then head on over to Forks Stream where you&#39;ll get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience fresh spring water straight from the source. While here, you&#39;ll learn all about the native flora and fauna and what it is used for.&nbsp;

Pass by the horse ranch and say hello to the famous horses who recently starred in the new Disney adaptation of Mulan before heading towards our private Mt John lookout which is possibly one of the most breathtaking stops on this epic journey. Enjoy your private location on this mountain where you&#39;ll not only learn all about the lake that put Tekapo on the map but also get the chance to have some fun, get into the spirit and dress like a farmer for a hilarious photo opportunity.

Head back to the farmyard where your last stop will be to get up close and personal with some of our favourite friends, like our alpacas. We&rsquo;ll provide the treats, you just need to provide the hands!

	<li>Tour participants must accept that we are unable to guarantee clear, sunny skies on all our tours</li>
	<li>We operate our tours in a high-altitude alpine environment on a high-country farm. As such tour content may vary throughout the year due to seasonal changes, weather conditions, seasonal farming operations and road conditions.</li>
	<li>The animals on the farm are consistently moved from paddock to paddock at short notice for grazing purposes and may not always be visible from the designated route. The animals at our farmyard will always be visible but they may not always feel sociable or want to be fed.</li>
	<li>Sometimes, tours may be subject to fast-changing weather conditions, which could cause the route to be changed, stops to be skipped or the tour to be cut short. Please understand that our tours are not subject to partial refunds or discounts for any reason, including the weather.</li>
	<li>All tours operated are non-drinking and non-smoking. We reserve the right to refuse those who present intoxicated at the time of checking in. If you arrive intoxicated for check-in you will be turned away and will not be eligible for a refund.</li>
	<li>Failure to comply with the clothing recommendations (check FAQs) may result in you being refused access to the tour and/or forfeiting the fares paid</li>
	<li>Mobility requirements must be advised at the time of booking. Special arrangements may be accommodated (where possible) if we have over 72 hours&#39;&nbsp;notice prior to the tour commencement time.</li>
	<li>We exercise a strict non-translating policy. As we operate small group tours, talking over the guide is seen as rude and disruptive to all guests on all tours. Where possible we will endeavour to ensure that you are put with an appropriate guide who speaks your language for greater understanding.</li>
	<li>It is very important to arrive on time for check-in (15 minutes before your departure time). If you do not check in 15 minutes before your tour scheduled departure time, you will be deemed a &#39;no-show&#39; and you will not be eligible for a refund. Late arrivals will not be catered for, and you will not be allowed to join a later departure.</li>
	<li>In the event of adverse weather conditions (not limited to snow, ice, or extreme weather conditions) tours may be cancelled, for safety reasons. If this is the case, we will issue a full refund or accommodate you on another scheduled tour departure. (Depends on availability) Lake Tekapo Farm Tours reserves the right to cancel any tour at the discretion of staff and company management. In these instances, a full refund will be issued.</li>
