One of the world&#39;s longest flying fox rides is&nbsp;set in the heart of Nelson. This one-of-a-kind experience is a shot of adrenaline mixed with an amazing scenic ride high above the forest canopy.

Your tour starts with a 4km ride in a 4-wheel drive vehicle, passing through the pristine native forest while our guides entertain you with facts about the park&rsquo;s diverse native environment, cultural aspects and fun stories.&nbsp;The Skywire is set 300m above the&nbsp;cafe and has incredible views of Cable and Delaware Bays, the western ranges and north towards D&rsquo;urville island. On a clear day, you can even see the snow-capped peak of Mount Taranaki.

&nbsp;

You&#39;ll get strapped securely into the ride with 5-point harnesses on individual racing car style seats. The Skywire seats up to 4 &ldquo;flyers&rdquo; at a time, with around 1000m of gravity assisted free-wheeling, reaching speeds of up to 100 kph, followed by 600m at a more leisurely pace. It&#39;s ideal for taking in the incredible scenery. Then you do it all again, but backwards!&nbsp;Many people rate the return backwards as the highlight of the trip.

&nbsp;

This adventure universally appealing for every age, however, a minimum height of 1.2 m applies.&nbsp;The Skywire is weather dependent and doesn&#39;t operate in heavy rain or high winds.&nbsp;
