If the weather isn&#39;t suitable to safely conduct the flight, you will have the option to rebook for the next available time or receive a full refund. If the weather is safe to fly but will be turbulent, you will have the option of flying, rebooking, or receiving a full refund.

The Operator is able to fly approximately 70% of the days in the summer and winter, and 55% of the days in the spring and fall.

Departing from Queenstown on a fixed-wing aircraft, you&#39;ll&nbsp;fly up the main spine of the Southern Alps from Queenstown to Glentanner or Franz Josef airport, with stunning&nbsp;views of the beautiful Wanaka township and Lake Wanaka.&nbsp;Along the way, many small and large glaciers can be seen with their rivers feeding into turquoise blue glacial lakes.

&nbsp;

As you head to Glentanner, views to the east include Mt Cook and the MacKenzie&nbsp;Country, soaring over canals that link up to Lake Benmore, a man-made lake that feeds the Waitaki River hydropower scheme. If you&#39;re taking the Franz Josef option, you&#39;ll&nbsp;descend on the western side of Mt Cook to Franz Josef airport with great views of the Tasman Sea and lush vegetation that adorn the West Coast.

&nbsp;

After landing, you&#39;ll be escorted to the helicopter partners, who will provide you with a safety briefing and details of your flight and landing options. You&#39;ll then enjoy a 30-min&nbsp;round trip flight, and the helicopter will land on the snowfields at the head of one of the glaciers, where you can disembark.

&nbsp;

West coast (Fox and Franz Josef) heli-flights will&nbsp;fly over both&nbsp;Fox and Franz glaciers, landing on one of them for a walk around in the glacial snow. Meanwhile, east-side Aoraki/Mt. Cook helicopter flights will&nbsp;cover the Tasman Glacier and&nbsp;Hochstetter Icefall.

&nbsp;

You&#39;ll have plenty of time to take in the magnificent view of the surrounding area, play in the snow and take some incredible photos, and then you&#39;ll be flown back to the helicopter base where you&#39;ll have a little time&nbsp;to relax before loading up for the return flight to Queenstown.

Your pilot always endeavours to take a different flight path home, so you to see as much of the landscape and sights as possible. Naturally, the weather conditions play a part in the route decision; however, you will be spoilt with spectacular scenery throughout the whole experience.

The pilot in command is responsible for the safety of the aircraft and everyone on board at all times. Service can be refused if the pilot&#39;s instructions are not complied with. 
 
Given alpine flying conditions, True South Flights reserves the right to alter the flight paths, durations, or cancel flights due to weather and safety considerations. If we cannot fly due to adverse weather conditions, we will attempt to reschedule, depending on passenger schedules and flight availability. If we cannot reschedule, passengers will receive a 100% refund. 
 
If passengers choose to cancel a flight, fail to check-in on time, or notify us of changes less than 24 hours prior to their departure, they will incur a 100% cancellation charge. Changes or cancellations made with more than 24 hours warning incur no penalties. 
 
We are required to ensure that the aircraft is operated within its maximum weight limitations and the aircraft&rsquo;s centre of gravity is within limits. We therefore request passenger weights at the time of booking to assist us with operational planning and managing seat availability and to provide a great customer experience. Please ensure you inform us of your weight (including any luggage), especially if any passengers are 100kg or 260lb or over, prior to the date of travel. ANY DEVIATION OF WEIGHT COULD RESULT IN THE FLIGHT BEING RESCHEDULED AND/OR A SURCHARGE APPLIED.
